How does an audio guest book work?

The Sunflow Booths audio guest book, The Line, is an ivory rotary phone with a bronze handset. A guest lifts the receiver, hears your recorded greeting, waits for the tone and talks for up to 3 minutes. Hanging up saves the message. There’s no app, screen or Wi-Fi, so every guest from 8 to 98 can use it.

What happens after you book?

  1. 01

    Book and record your greeting

Hold your date, then record a 20-second hello on your own phone and send it to us. Stuck on words? We send three short scripts to pick from.

  2. 02

We set it up and test the line

A Sunflow tech delivers the phone or station, places it away from the DJ speakers and makes a test recording before guests arrive.

  3. 03

    Guests pick up all night

Lift, listen, talk after the tone, hang up. A sign with your names tells guests what to do, so nobody has to explain it.

  4. 04

    Listen within 48 hours

Every message lands in a private online gallery, cleaned up and level-matched. Download the files and share the link with family.

Where does the guest book go at a wedding?

The Line sits on your guest book table, next to the cards and a sign with your names. The Lens stands on its own near the bar or the dance floor, where guests pass all night. We place both away from the DJ speakers so every message stays clear.

What does the video guest book record?

The Sunflow Booths video guest book, The Lens, is a payphone-style station in ivory white or classic black. Guests lift the handset, then choose a video message of up to 90 seconds, a voice-only message or a photo. Every message saves to your private gallery, ready within 48 hours.

Audio, video or a written guest book: which fits your event?

Questions couples ask before booking

Still deciding? Call 1 (877) 735-4943 and we’ll talk it through.

How much does an audio guest book rental cost in Ann Arbor?

At Sunflow Booths, The Line audio guest book is $299 on its own or $199 with any photo booth package. The Lens video guest book is $549, or $399 with a booth. Both together are $749, or $549 with a booth. Delivery, setup and pickup within 35 miles of Ann Arbor are included.

What do the audio and video guest books look like?

The Line is an ivory rotary phone with a bronze handset. The Lens is a payphone-style station with a phone handset, a touchscreen and a camera, in ivory white or classic black. You pick the finish that suits your decor when you book.

Do guests need Wi-Fi, an app or their own phone?

No. The Line records on the phone itself and The Lens records on the station, so guests don’t download anything or scan anything. We only ask for a spot near a standard outlet, away from the DJ speakers.

How long can each message be?

Audio messages on The Line can run up to 3 minutes each. Video messages on The Lens run up to 90 seconds each. There’s no limit on how many messages your guests leave during your event.

When do we get our recordings?

Every message is in your private online gallery within 48 hours of your event, cleaned up and level-matched. You can download each file and share the gallery link. If you add The Reel, your edited film arrives within 14 days.

Will an audio guest book work at a loud reception?

Yes. The receiver sits against the guest’s ear and mouth, which blocks most room noise. We also place the phone away from the speakers, often near the entrance or the bar, and balance the levels before delivery.

Can guests who can’t attend leave a message?

Yes, with the Far-Away Line add-on for $79. Out-of-town family calls a phone number the week before or after your event, hears your greeting and leaves a message. Their recordings join the same gallery as everyone else’s.

Can we add a guest book to our photo booth package?

Yes, and it costs less. When you book any Sunflow Booths photo booth for the same event, The Line drops to $199 and The Lens drops to $399, because our crew is already on site. Both together are $549.

Which areas do you deliver to?

Sunflow Booths is based in Ann Arbor and serves Washtenaw County and Metro Detroit. Delivery is included within 35 miles of Ann Arbor, which covers Ypsilanti, Saline, Dexter, Canton, Plymouth and Novi. Farther events add mileage at the standard per-mile rate.

Is it only for weddings?

No. Couples book it most, but The Line and The Lens also work for anniversaries, milestone birthdays, graduations, retirements, celebrations of life and corporate tribute events. We change the greeting, sign and prompts to fit the occasion.
